GREAT seeing so many spouses at the Accompanying Partner event yesterday!

On September 25th 2014 DACCSW again experienced that there is a big interest in our Accompanying Partners events. Around 25 people got together to discuss "how to get back to thinking at your self as a Professional"

Instructor Grant Hill (Owner, NLP coaching and Training International) coached the group through a workshop session making the participants reflect on questions like “Am I living the dream of someone else?” and ”Do I do what I really want to do?”. People actively got involved in the discussion, and inspiration and new ideas emerged between the participants.

Thank you to all for attending! And thanks to Anna Holliday for opening up her beautiful home.

We are already planning the next session for Accompanying Partners. It will take place in January 2015 – we will keep you posted.

“Great seeing y´all” – Yet another great "After summer social"

The Danish, Norwegian and Swedish Chambers of Commerce hosted a "Welcome back from summer social mixer" on the 16. of September. It was great to see so many familiarly and new faces in Norway House! All enjoyed the nice food and beverage, the opportunity to network and catch up after a long summer. Again, we would like to say a BIG thank you to our sponsors SAS, IKEA and StenaBulk.

We were all welcomed to The Norway House by Consul General Dr. Jostein Mykletun. SAS gave a brief presentation with special focus on the new route; Houston–Stavanger and were met with great applause.

Chef Søren Pedersen created very delicious food – it was sponsored by SAS, StenaBulk and the 3 chambers. IKEA supplied very nice sweets for dessert and the Danes supplied Carlsberg!

More  than 70 Danes attended along with the Norwegian and Swedish contingent in all app 130 people.

Report from this year TOWER conference!

"Danish technology and development methods are the foundation of the industry as it is today!" - A bold statement made at the TOWER conference today by speaker and moderator Danish Dr. Carsten Westergaard, NextraTEC. It was a very interesting first day at the conference!
We were taken back in history to the first Danish off shore windmills build around 1940, to the first Vestas turbine installed in 1979 generating 30KW - up till today to the latest Siemens/DONG turbine installed in 2013 generating 6MW! We saw the newest - and very innovative - foundations for offshore Wind made by Norwegian Seatower (presented by Danish Niels Brix, CCO) and much more.
Very interesting reports from the Wind energy markets in both Germany, Denmark, UK and the US - Did you know Germany is best in Europe with wind energy counting for 10% of the total energy? - and they are growing that number! And on a good day, Denmark is supplied 100% by wind energy!
Still it is not an easy game. Lots of politics and legislation to deal with.
More issues and opportunities to de discussed tomorrow at the last day of the TOWER conference!

Pictures below:
The conference were opened by Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ricarda Redeker
CCO Seatower, Niels Brix were speaker on “Udpate on the offshore wind development in Europe”
Dr. and President NextraTEC, Professor at practice Texas Tech University Carsten Westergaard were moderator and spoke on both “The role of Denmark in the Global Wind Market” and “Update on the U.S. Wind Energy Market”
